SkillBridge Military Fellow Martin Taylor Is a First for Armed Forces Mutual

Martin Taylor is joining Armed Forces Mutual for a three-month internship, during which time he will be working with our insurance sales, operations and Member Benefits teams to learn about the life insurance industry and the unique services that Armed Forces Mutual provides.

Our relationship with SkillBridge — a DoD program that provides training and development opportunities with employers seeking high-quality skills, facilitated for us by HireMilitary — is a recent addition to the cadre of professional resources beyond our own walls. It’s just one of the ways through which we can share our commitment to and support for hiring Veterans, servicemembers, and military spouses. Candidates like Martin who are eligible for SkillBridge get the assistance they need from the program so that employers such as Armed Forces Mutual can benefit from their unique skillsets.

That brings us back to Martin. His experiences make him an important and valuable addition to our team. Martin is a retired USAF Veteran with 20+ years of service, including 12 years of technical experience in directly analyzing data received from various intelligence sources using specialized analysis tools and databases. His career experience includes supporting a wide range of complex projects in Information Systems Management, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, formal training and strategic planning. Extensive collaboration with agencies across the Intelligence Community, including Distributed Common Ground Systems, Air Operation Centers, National Security Agency and Special Access Programs (SAP).

Additionally, Martin served as a Subject Matter Expert for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems. He also worked with Solar United Neighbors on the request for proposal and selection of two companies to install PV systems in several counties. In this role, he guided and/or sold PV systems to 30+ customers and informed the local community of alternative forms of energy and transportation while participating in National Drive Electric Week.

Martin holds Bachelor of Science in Aviation Technology from Everglades University, along with three associate degrees in various Applied Sciences and Air and Space Operations Technology.

During his time at Armed Forces Mutual, Martin will work with Armed Forces Mutual VP Business Development Justin Pearson contributing to our business development growth initiatives. We are focused on making this a rewarding experience for him — and we know Armed Forces Mutual will definitely benefit from his contributions.
